What is NewleafEV?

NewleafEV converts VW Beetles, vintage Porsches 1972 and older and Porsche replicas from gasoline to electric power.

Is it available now?
Yes.

What years can be converted?
1951 to 1978 air cooled VW and Porsche, any year Replicas.

Does the conversion require any modifications to the vehicle?
No permanent modifications are needed.

How far can the vehicle go on a full charge?
40-100 miles depending on the battery package.

How fast can the vehicle travel?
Over 60-100 MPH depending on the vehicle used and the battery package installed.

How are the batteries recharged?
The standard installation uses a retractable extension cord plugged into 110 volt outlet. 220V chargers are optional.

Does it have a heater?
A integrated resistance heater is optional.

Does it have an conventional transmission?
Yes, we designed the system so that anyone can get in and drive without any coaching. The car has all the original gears, although you may find you don’t use them all. Drivers not familiar with a stickshift find it is especially forgiving.

How long does the conversion take?
About 7 to 10 days.

What are advantages over other electric cars?
